Text Box: With the cut of a ribbon, Lt. Governor Sally Pederson will ceremoniously open the new Historic Hills Scenic Byway
which was re-designated last month by the Iowa Department of Transportation.

The event, which will be held Sunday, June 25 at West View Park in Donnellson, Iowa, is part of a “Re-discover Iowa Tour” which begins June 22 in Des Moines.

John McCurdy, Chariton Valley Planning & Development Text Box: Community Planner says the ribbon cutting ceremony will be brief but important.

“This event helps to recognize not only the Historic Hills Advisory Committee members who were steadfast in their efforts to receive the scenic byway designation, but to draw attention to what those in the Historic Hills Corridor already know—southern Iowa has natural scenic beauty,” says McCurdy.
