Opening for a Chariton Valley Planning and Development Council of Governments, an Iowa Council of Governments authorized under Iowa Code 28H and serving the cities within and the counties of Appanoose, Lucas, Monroe, and Wayne, addresses issues facing local governments on a cooperative basis in south-central Iowa. The organization coordinates service delivery, planning, advocacy, technical assistance, and project development in areas such as community development, transportation, housing, land use, solid waste, and natural resources. Chariton Valley Planning and Development is seeking an individual to join our growing team as a Community Development Planner. Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's Degree in Urban/ Regional Planning, Public Administration or equivalent in experience and training. Preferred candidates will have three years of experience in strategic planning and project management. Job duties include:
